How is this Little Hole the Most Expensive Real Estate of All Time?
Made by Nature Vs Made by Human
This is perhaps the cosiest natural home. Why is it expensive? Because it's Made by Nature, which renders it priceless!
When there are such beautiful dwellings in natural world, why do we hanker after the human-made ones?
If something is human-made in an exotic/sought-after location, it attracts a hefty price, and is regarded as premium. Why is something made by humble nature not as expensive, or regarded as premium? Food for thought.
Natural Value vs Conditioned Value
We have been conditioned, by everything around us, to attach a price to things according to popular notions.
Nature has made giant oceans and mountains, but it’s equally expert in making tiny homes for tiny creatures, like the home in this photo, for squirrels perhaps. Incidentally, no architects, or blueprints were used for its construction, but the result is perfection!
These tree hollows are everywhere. We sadly don’t see them.
Real Net Worth
Let us always remind ourselves not wander so far from Nature that we forget its true price.
Everything about creation is uncomplicated. The natural world doesn’t waste its energy, which is how it has the awesome power to suppress us, we who use up our energy in complicating our lives, and living in an existential crisis all the time.
Enjoying wonderfulness in Mother Nature bestows happiness, because the origin of this enjoyment is in simplicity.
Story Notes
The problem here is one of acceptance, or of not seeing things from a different/right perspective. We don’t normally give importance to nature to see the value in its creations. This problem can be addressed by rewiring ourselves and our thinking. It represents getting in tune with nature, and becoming non-materially, or spiritually oriented. We don’t need to give up what we own, just not give it undue importance.
Behind the Scenes
I took these photos in London (the top two photos in 2019, and the one above in 2022). As we know, the British capital has one of the highest real estate prices in the world. But just like in every big city and town anywhere in the world, creations of nature which are everywhere, get overlooked almost by default.
Also, the photo above is of a different tree from the one in the top two photos. This led me to wonder that such natural homes for small animals are more abundant than at first apparent to us humans. This further supports my theory that nature does indeed look after and provide for us all.
I remember, the thought of putting my hand in the little cave to explore it had crossed my mind, but I chickened out fearing I might get bitten!
