We make a mistake when we confine Santa Claus to a mere human being. We insist he must be “just a guy,” then wonder how a guy could possibly do what Santa does. That insistence misses the point: Santa isn’t meant to be a literal technician of sleigh logistics. He’s a symbol.

Think about Spider‑Man. We accept the premise of a man who climbs walls and swings between buildings because we buy the idea of a superhero. We don’t demand a physics lecture before we enjoy the story. Spider‑Man functions unhindered as a symbol of courage and responsibility; he stands for fighting wrong in the neighbourhood. Santa plays a similar role, but in the spiritual realm. He is a spiritual superhero—a figure who embodies generosity, selflessness, and the capacity to rise above petty selfishness.
